Casket prices range from around $900 to $9,500. This is usually the biggest single difference between one funeral and another.

What a funeral costs at Vea Funeral Home
Funeral costs depend on the casket you choose and the services your family needs. Our standard fully-attended service is a fixed professional fee, and the casket price is added on top. That way you can see exactly what each part costs before you commit.

Our packages bundle the standard service with a specific casket, so the package price is simply the $3,900 service fee plus that casket. Package 1 is a simpler option that leaves out transfers, hearse hire, the grave marker and continued care. See our packages.
What affects the final cost
The services you add
Extras such as chapel hire, viewings, extra transfers and overseas repatriation are charged on top of the standard service.
How long your loved one is in our care
Continued care is charged per day.
Oversize caskets
Larger casket sizes carry an additional charge.
Weekend, public holiday or after-hours work
Work outside standard hours carries an additional charge.
Cemetery and cremation fees
These are usually paid directly to the cemetery or crematorium, and are separate from our invoice.

- Can I get help paying for a funeral?
- Possibly. Work and Income may be able to pay a Funeral Grant of up to $2,697.43 (as at 1 April 2026) towards reasonable funeral expenses, and ACC may be able to help where the death resulted from a covered injury. We explain both on our help paying page.
